Located in the heart of Brittany, St Brice is a mature, small gravel pit offering a private and exclusive carp fishing holiday in France. Set within a secure, gated rural site, the lake provides a quiet and uninterrupted environment, perfect for anglers looking to book the lake for themselves and enjoy a relaxed session with friends.
The lake is shallow by French standards, with depths ranging from 2 to 8 feet. This allows it to warm quickly and hold temperature longer, creating consistent feeding conditions across much of the year. Combined with the local microclimate, this makes St Brice a strong option for carp fishing holidays in France outside of peak summer, with autumn and winter sessions particularly productive.
This is not a runs water. St Brice is a thinking angler’s lake, with features including bays, gullies, and large granite boulders that require careful approach and watercraft. It’s ideal for anglers who enjoy working for their fish and targeting quality carp rather than chasing numbers.
With just six swims, including three large doubles and three spacious singles, the lake comfortably accommodates small groups while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re planning a drive and survive carp fishing trip to France or a focused session with experienced anglers, St Brice offers a rewarding and authentic fishing experience.

St Brice has been carefully developed with a focus on long-term growth and quality rather than instant high stock levels. The lake holds a well-managed head of carp with strong growth potential, making it an exciting prospect for anglers targeting specimen fish.
The stock is made up predominantly of mirrors, with a ratio of roughly three mirrors to one common. Many of the fish are heavily plated, with a selection of fully scaled mirrors and deep-bodied commons adding real character to the lake.
Initial stocking began in 2019 with hand-picked carp ranging from high doubles to 40lb, and these fish have shown excellent weight gain. As a result, the lake now holds a growing number of 30lb+ carp, with several fish pushing beyond 40lb and plenty of future potential.
There are no nuisance species such as bream, tench, or catfish, allowing you to focus purely on carp fishing. The lake also contains roach and perch, with the recent addition of grass carp and pike adding further diversity. Crayfish are now present, so appropriate bait presentation is advised.
Overall, St Brice offers a rewarding specimen carp fishing experience in France, where each bite is earned and every capture feels well deserved.
A quality range of bait is available on-site, making St Brice an excellent choice for anglers travelling from the UK and looking for a hassle-free trip.
